Our family line lived in the Parish of Askeaton, townland Ballycanana.
They worked and rented land from the Westroppe estate.
They were salmon fishermen on the River Shannon using weirs to catch their fish.
They fished at Shaughnessy Point, Long Weir, Wards Weir and Sheehan Weir, Strandfield, and Shanagolden.
